Version 5.10

June  6, 2009

Fixed serious bug causing 5.9 not to work if Windows default to showing numbers as 1.234,56 (reversing comma and period from US style)

Adjusted unlimited glider rules (10 figures)

Added advanced glider rules  checking of new Glider free rules

Version 5.9

Mar 19, 2009

This 2009 release has many minor changes. The most visible is the output of 3x4 for 3/4 in quarters, 3x2 for 3 halfs, etc., and the display of a mini-sized catalog info on form B, per new CIVA decisions. Other updates include:

1. 2009 CIVA & IAC sequences in "demo" menu and new unknowns rules: dh (diagonal hammer) figure supported with climbing rolling degrees/stops checking, 22k minimum k for unlimited unkowns and no 1.1.x figures for unlimited unknowns. IAC sportsman is now 125k

2. The display of hesitation rolls is 3x2, 4x2, 2x4, 3x4, 5x4, 6x4, 2x8,4x8,6x8. Full roll retains "2" "4" and "8". For the old indicators, see Options.

3. By default, Form B now contains a miniature A form, listing all catalog ids and K factors, making it easier to check the sequence and following CIVA decision.

4. Glider indication is now set inside Edit->Sequence Info, so you can easily edit a glider sequence and then a power sequence without having to go to options and change the "mode". It also allows sequences to be send to other people without causing confusion

5. Better handling of partially entered sequences by hand, e.g. if you write "n(i" the software will display the auto-fixed n(if) figure.

6. Snaprolls on 45 lines from "knife edge" are considered to start from zero AOA and get lower K factor now.

7. Easily print sequences on CIVA forms with your club's logo, see the printing options. You need to use "..." to choose your logo .jpg file (only once, it is retained)

8. You can now print without the super families shown, see Edit->Sequence info. Also they are printed as "SF 5" instead of "sf=5".

9. Bug fixes: arrow direction for upside-down loop, 7.5.3 K factor, printing bugs for -5^, mm figure, -h positive vertical down.

10. Per CIVA request, filename is not printed by default (often contained competitor's name)

11. ESC key close many dialogs now

12. old sequences (with 2008 in the date field) are verified using old rules. Unfortunately, this is not too useful since the old K factors are NOT used.

13. Support saving to JPG as well as GIF in Tools->Save Image

14. A completely working "batch mode" to support internet-based Olan and connection with other software. This includes print to PDF (via cutePDF)

Version 5.8

Jan 19, 2008

Many new changes in this 2008 release:

1. Updated rules for CIVA & IAC 2008: New K factors for rolling circles and glider's tailslide. No more than 2 stops or 360 on reverse P-loop vertical up if a snap is at the top. 8-point rolls not allowed on loops down. IAC 12 advanced, 9 unlimited figures like Civa. New IAC Intermediate Unknown figures added. All 2008 known program are included in the demo menu

2. Added support to change the minor-axes angle and direction with a "/" or "^" at the end of a figure, or the new button in the top left panel. Try  this for example:

      3j j> 3j/ j> 3j^/ 3j>

3. Added support to change the position of roll indicators like "3/4" by pressing the buttons between the "gaps" on every panel. Try

      2h34,3f 2h34,"|"3f 2h"|"34,3f 2h"\"34,"|"3f

that last one using "\" (roll comment) cannot be entered from the panels right now. The 2008 Q program uses all of these new features (roll indicator for spin, exit to the right from tailslide, last rolling circle back to left exit)

4. Modified menus for easy access to special modes: unknown figures selection (ctrl-G for view in Grid).  Also view K factors on the B form with Ctrl-K. Note that in Grid mode verification (Alt-V) automatically check just figure selection, not the complete sequence (you need to set the sequence type in Sequence info (Ctrl-I from Edit menu). You can also combine Grid mode and visible K facors. In this case you may enter the competitor or country name in the "comment" (bottom left panel) and it is made visible and directly printable as "figure selection".

5. "Extend all panels" (now in the View menu) makes everything on the left panels visible and should be used by all advanced users.

6. You can specify the connector line (between figures, dashed) width in paramaters, esp for printing. Many other printing issues have been resolved.

7. A tailslide "on the side" (minor axes, flying towards the judges) is now drawn "from the side" like humpty bumps. At first this may seem strange, but it is actually more correct and also fix several issues with C forms (mirror images)

8. A new Queue menu allows you to cut&paste figures into a "queue". This is very useful when converting a grid of "unknown figures selection" into a sequence, or when going over many sequences (F9/F10 for next/previous) and trying to pickup some interesting figures for a new unknown. Note the shortcut keys Ctrl-Q,W,E (similar to Ctrl-X,C,V for cut, copy&paste). if you have entered nothing into the queue and you press Alt-Q to view it, it will list almost all of the basic catalog figures for you to choose from (double-click a figure to add to your sequence)

9. You can now set positioning value in the sequence info screen either for line judges, no line judges, or any number you wish.

10. The super-family is printed for free programs.

11. Misc bug fixes, vista support, improved printing, mouse scroll support, etc.

Version 5.7

Dec 3, 2006

Updated Verification rules for CIVA & IAC 2007: Advanced: 2 snaps, opposite roll required, CIVA max 12 figures. Unlimited: CIVA 9 figures max.  Gliders: 230K, removed spin & super-roll requirements.

Added Advanced & Unlimited 2007 Knowns and a 9-figure unlimited free under the "demo" menu.

Added support for the new "diagoanl entry/exit hammerheads" (figures dh, hd, dhd) except there is no way to place a vertical up roll on the dhd figure. This is due to Olan's limit of at most 3 rolling lines per figure. I doubt anyone needs a 4 rolling lines figure (45 up, vertical up, hammer, vertical down, 45 down) and have no current plans to support it.

Added 3 and 4 full rolls/snap elements for better drawing of 4-minute free, figures "94" (2 and 1/4), 92, 93, 91, 95, 96, 97, 99, ... to 999 (6 rolls!). It must be entered directly, e.g. 99h96f

New feature to show K-factor and catalog # on the B form (under View menu).

Misc Bugs fixed: print from preview, "draw below" count, gif image copy, etc.

Latest Version 5.6

Sep 18, 2006

Many internal changes and various new options and small improvements based on feedback from AWAC06 in Poland. A very short summary is:

New features: undo, cut&paste, connector line show/hide, negative "gaps",  show illegal figures, judge's screen with voice speak, sub-sequences, private logo prints.

Improved: printing, positioning, connector drawing, inside-outside loop drawing, new civa logo/forms, many bugs fixed.

Full details

1. Printing of Form A finally looks good. All printing have more "rounded" rolls. All printing options are changeble via Tools->Options directly (F2), and print preview has been added.

2. Undo, Redo, Cut Copy & Paste have all been implemented. You can now click on a figure and press the delete key, or press ctrl-X then click another figure and press ctrl-V to paste the cut figure before the newly selected figure. Undo your changes with ctrl-Z, or use the Edit menu for all those features.

2. New figure positioning mechanism with "auto","below","same line","user" and "absolute" modes, set by either the mouse or the position panel. The user position mode allows a figure to be placed at any x,y distance (via mouse movement), the absolute position extends "user" by allowing figures overlap (not normally needed). You can use the mouse and the software auto-adjust positioning. When moving the 1st figure, it auto-adjusts figure 2.

3.  Better drawing of  figure connectors. Connectors are less likely to overlap figures, and they are better broken into parts. Fixed the display of needless connectors for some Y-axes drawn figures. Also, allow the user to force display/hide of a connector in User-position mode.

4. Support negative "gaps" to reduce figure's entry/exit and before/after roll line sizes. You can now force many figure lines to be shorter than before, like the 45 line of a reverse half cuban.  Just use the gaps subpanels or figure entry/exit line and continue to reduce size below zero (click arrow down) . As an extra benefit, this also allows a "square loop" figure to look like a real square even with mutiple roll elements on the top (but you need to tweak this to make it happen)

5. Much better drawing of inside-outside loops and loops with multiple elements on top (like the unlimited 2006 roll, opposite outside roll on top of P loop).

6. All illegal figures (like half loop up without inverted exit set) are now explictly fixed with a note below them, making errors more visible and easier to understand even before you try to "verify" the sequence. When use verify a seqeunce, many problems are explained in an easier to understand messages.

7. Added options to not display K factors on forms. Also support copy of the current form to the clipbaord.

8. Judge's screen: displaying one figure at a time with plain english voice (yes it talks!), intended for future online realtime judging. See Tools->Judge screen.

9. Various bugs fixed, including: K factors, glider unknown F.P support, delete/insert  bugs, English errors, base figures Icons, non-round inside-outside loops, etc

10. Allow subsequences on the same form by using "//" seperator (from the menu Edit->subseqeunce). Allow different box-entry on each sub-sequences. Useful for printing practice sequences.

11. Use new Civa forms (with new logo). Support "private" forms where the logo is loaded from a user file in My Pictures xxx.jpg where "xxx" is the rules set for the sequence.

12. Change the default arrow sizes for printing and display. Note you can modify the options for the display and printing seperately. see the Faq.

Latest Version 5.5

July 25, 2006

Just in time for Poland AWAC: Tools->Options "Individual Figures", when set, allows for individual figures to be displayed not as a sequnece, but as a grid, with the catalog information below each figure. This can be used for selection of figures for the unknown programs. The comment field can be used for country code. Verification can also be used in this mode and will not enforce each figure entry to match the previous figure's exit (inverted vs. normal flight).

Rounded corners: choose "rounded corners" in Tools->Options menu to draw 90-degree sharp corners with a standard quarter-loop. Please note that this display is not currenly valid for contest entry forms.

Under non-strict roll indicator, the default,  "2/4" which is obviously two 1/4 rolls, does not have the "4" added to the display. But now, the 3/4 with 3 points of 1/4 is displayed as "3/4" on one side and "4" on the other side of the arrow, like the rules require. The old shorthand "3x4" to describe 3x1/4 is now a non-default option in Tools->Options. As before, you can still specify full-FAI, strict roll indicators in Tools->Options.

There is now support for British Intermediate Free verification. Enter BAeA in the Sequence Information.

The Pilot's card, "D" form for printing, can now be printed in C form style, i.e. left wind. Multiple rolls on loop tops are now drawn correctly. Check out the Demo Unlimited 2006 first P figure.

More printing bugs have been fixed.

Version 5.4.1 & 5.4.0

June 12, 2006: Fixed printing bugs, improved D form, use printX.olp for Form X printing, so now form A looks better, and form D has oversized numbers. add menu Tools->load print options.

June 8, Version 5.4: Support "Alternate" drawing of Reverse half cuban with the exit below the entry line by using a very short 45 line. Figure name: "arc". Similarly for Half cuban: "ac". An "Alt" key was added to the Figure panel on the left which is enabled for half cubans. Future versions may include alternate versions of other figures (please ask)

Improved printing by using a 200% resolution of the standard screen while printing. The print.olp options file is loaded for printing and can be viewed or modified by the user (menu Tools->Load Options). There is an option to continue printing as before, too.

Pilot's reference card, called Form D, has been modified for easier usage. You can also reduce the size of the card on the printed page using the Print Form dialog.

Added the Line's width to the Options Dialog (useful for setting print.olp above)

The complete IAC rules for intermediate, advanced and unlimited unknowns have been fully implemented. If you find any verification that is less than perfect, please send a copy of the sequence.

Misc bugs fixed: "j> j" no longer acting like "j j>" ; line gaps are no longer arrow-size dependent; ">Wind>>" no longer shown on Form A; printing in Black and White no longer force a screen display in Black and White

Version 5.3.1

May 14, 2006: Release 5.3.1: fix a bug in F.P form A printing from Version 5.3

Version 5.3

May 12, 2006

Minor catalog fix: One Bow had wrong K, Rollercoaster had wrong catalog#

Gliders: in Tools->Options.

Support  Glider's catalog, including Glider-only figures and K factors.

Gliders SuperSlow Rolls: 01 02 06 are super-slow versions of 1 2 6 rolls.
Gliders 3/3 and 6/3 rolls: 33 and 66 are 3-point rolls.

IAC Floating Point: If a free program has 1 extra point it is automatically reduced during printing with a F.P (-1) indicated on the A form. The largest-K figure is auto-selected. You must define your program as IAC Free. For Gliders, upto 3 F.P are automatically reduced as specified in the IAC red book.

Free sequence Verification has been fully revamped. Now supports: IAC Free for all catagories including the Floating point and minor veriations like required positive exit on Glider's sequnece. CIVA Advanced & Unlimited fully supported.

Unknown sequnece verificaiton has been added for both Advanced & Unlimited. "Connectors" are automatically detected and no longer reported as "low K". Unlimited vertical opposite roll limits (degrees & stops) are fully checked.
